Detective

Author - Jonathan Derecho

The detective arrived at the scene with an air of calmness and professionalism. Everyone working on the scene knew he had the case under control and that he would get to the bottom of the case. He approached the body and instantly went to work, pointing out how there was a struggle, pointing to the bullet wounds that riddled the body: one in the chest and one in the head.

The detective reported this to the police chief and explained to him that this person was a professional and knew what they were doing.

After going through the mountain of paperwork and the investigation, the detective went back home to his wife and explained the whole situation and how frustrated he was because he  didn’t know how many more people had to die before he could catch the criminal.

The wife told him that she knew he could catch the criminal and to just take a rest after eating some food she made for him. The detective looked at the delicious food his wife made: a nice steak with the perfect crust, and he noticed that he didn't have any utensils. He reached for some utensils in the cabinet, but his wife gave him some in a panicked manner.
The Detective asked what was wrong, but she just apologized for not setting up the table right.

After wolfing his meal down, the Detective told his wife that he was going to sleep and that he would see her tomorrow. He gave her a kiss before he went to sleep.

When the room to his door shut, the wife pulled out the pistol she hid in the utensil cabinet and locked the door to their house.
