Peacock quilt
What made you spare
the bed for the floor
forever you have kissed me
from the backdoor to the hall
dropping off a clothing trail
from hat to heel
vivid colors splashed
instantly in my eyes
as your hands held tight
to the meat of my thighs
thrown to the floor
on a double pallet
the quilt padded my fall
the fall I had expected
since your driveway
met my car
going there was happening
with butterfly kisses
peacock feathers
on my back
and you in my system
picnic with no basket
fed our carnal appetite
going there was limiting
our conversations
stitch marks pressed
to my neck and spine
marking me the bride
of Frankenstein
your taste feathered
on my tongue
blanketing yourself
over me half-mooned
going there was pulsating
passion to pressure
sewn together
in one plume
