Jazz
the art of healing.
Jasmin “Jazz” Lopez is a PCC Student and Community Engagement Leader. She became involved with FIRST (Formerly Incaserated Radical Scholars Team) student organization before the inception of CORE (Community Overcoming Recividism through Education) Program in 2019. As as first-gen Chicana, her passion for education started upon her discovery of culturally relevant curriculum. CORE has played a critical role in her leadership development. She uses her voice as a tool for building radical communites and collective healing, specifically black and brown folx that have been impacted by mass incarceration - like herself. Due to having her father taken away before birth. Jasmin’s goal is to transfer to UCLA and pursue Chicanx studies with an emphasis in Grassroots Organizing and intersection of trauma-informed care.
