Eclipse
by Sebouh Oshagan
The sun and the moon
Lifelong opposites
Orbit comfortable laps in the bedazzled pool
Ticking the Grand Clock.
The one who makes the final call
Is content loitering in place
Until its reciprocal
Finds time to settle in space.
To complete the circle, the raging ring
And to display their shining pool
Where the ring will glow submerged in the milky water.
Once it begins
The calm serenity of darkness hushes
Those who made the pilgrimage
To see the hole in the sky, created in vital harmony.
And in those few moments
The darkness compliments the fiery mesmerizing ring
Hot damn.
But as the sky turns back on
And the edges of the ring begin to fade away into the rippling water
Like a dripping photograph
A ring is seared into the depths of memory.
